Congratulations STAR Testers!

Congratulations to last year’s 2nd – 5th grade STAR testers! According to our 2008-2009 STAR results, Castlemont students met all of the 21 AYP subgroup goals with remarkable gains.
For example, the district Hispanic subgroup goal was 17% points. Castlemont’s Hispanic subgroup surpassed that goal with an increase of 62% points. The district Socio-Economically Disadvantaged (SED) subgroup goal was 18% points. Castlemont’s SED subgroup increased by 62% points. The district English Learners (EL) goal was also 18% points and Castlemont’s EL subgroup increased by a remarkable 64% points.
Again, congratulations to all of our Castlemont students and parents for making school and learning a priority and to all of our Castlemont teachers and staff for making learning fun, interesting, challenging, and meaningful for students to succeed.
